Municipal Association Jämtland/Härjedalen

We are a municipal association established in 2022, working for the best interests of all municipalities in the region. The association operates as a non-profit organization and has a board consisting of politicians from all municipalities in the region.

The association places great importance on being present in municipalities throughout the region, so we welcome applicants from any municipality in Jämtland/Härjedalen. The Municipal Association Jämtland Härjedalen is a remote-independent employer where we are home-based but travel throughout the region as required by the position.

We have a small office at Campus in Östersund, where we meet regularly to collaborate and develop together. Here, we also have an inspiring and flexible work environment, where you as an employee have good opportunities to grow and participate in our exciting and socially important projects.

About the position:

One of the association's areas of operation is Social Welfare/Regional Collaboration and Support Structure (RSS) for Social Services. Our goal is to contribute to the development of a more knowledge-based, equitable, and gender-equal social service and municipal healthcare in Jämtland Härjedalen. We coordinate collaboration between the region's municipalities and other actors such as the region, and serve as a strategic arena for joint priorities. Our work focuses on ensuring that residents of Jämtland County receive equal support and care, regardless of where in the region they live.

To further strengthen elderly care, the government has allocated funds to RSS for 2025-2027 to enhance elderly care with a focus on knowledge-based care and support for people with dementia. This gives us the opportunity to assist municipalities in implementing new knowledge, developing more effective working methods, and creating sustainable elderly care in the long term.

We are looking for someone who wants to participate in this exciting work from 2025 to 2027.

Responsibilities:

· You will play a key role in planning, organizing, and leading regional development processes.

· You will support municipalities in implementing evidence-based practices and methods, ensuring that the best available knowledge is disseminated and applied in practice. The work also involves systematic follow-up and analysis to create long-term improvements. This support is provided regionally as well as locally and includes travel to all municipalities in the region.

· Collaboration is a central part of the assignment, and you will work closely with municipalities, the region, the National Board of Health and Welfare, and other national actors to develop and strengthen knowledge governance in elderly care.

· You will also lead working groups, networks, and reference groups focused on improvement and development work.

· Regional coordination of the Professional Journey in elderly care may be part of the assignment.

The assignment is conducted independently and involves focusing on the target group and our member municipalities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence and drive development processes with both responsibility and freedom to shape the work. We are looking for someone who thrives in a changing environment, sees opportunities in complex challenges, and wants to contribute to creating elderly care based on knowledge, quality, and long-term sustainability.

We are looking for someone who:

· Has a post-secondary education in a relevant field, e.g., social worker, nurse, or other education deemed relevant by the employer

· Has several years of experience working in elderly care

· Has experience working in a politically governed organization and good knowledge of the decision-making processes within municipalities

· Has experience in improvement/development work within social services or healthcare at the regional level

Meritorious:

· Expertise in dementia care

· Experience in implementation, quality work, and systematic follow-up

Personal qualities:

· Strategic ability

· Structured and pedagogical, accustomed to expressing yourself well in speech and writing

· Ability to capture ideas and see opportunities

· Solution-oriented and flexible

· Independent and proactive

· Network builder with the ability to create a trusting climate

We offer:

An exciting and developing role. You will be part of an engaged team and have the opportunity to influence the development of elderly care in the region.

Location: Jämtland County

Employment type: Project employment until December 31, 2027 (required annual funding from the state is necessary)

Start date: July 1, 2025, or by agreement.
