The police area of Jämtland is divided into two local police areas: Östersund and Jämtland/Härjedalen. At the police area level, there is an investigation section and a police area office.
The local police area of Jämtland/Härjedalen is part of the Jämtland police area. Within the local police area, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and service.
The Jämtland police area is now seeking an administrator for the reception located in Sveg. The position is a temporary contract.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The reception is the face of the Police Authority and often the first contact for the public - and is therefore an important point of contact. The operation is both an exercise of authority and a service function with accessibility for both external and internal service. Serving as an administrator in the reception is a significant job in strengthening trust in police operations by having commitment, quality, and security in the handling of cases combined with efficiency.
As an administrator in the reception, you will have an important role within the framework of the police's service mission. You will assist the public and work with police authority matters in the reception.
Main Responsibilities:
- Process passport and ID card applications
- Receive and register reports from the public
- Handle lost property
- Release confiscated items
- Receive permits and surrendered weapons
Additional tasks may arise as the flow of cases can vary greatly. There may also be work in other locations within the county on occasion.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Relevant work experience in service with many external direct contacts in the form of physical personal meetings as assessed relevant by the employer
- High school diploma or equivalent knowledge as assessed relevant by the employer
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English both spoken and written
- Good computer skills and ease in learning new IT systems
- Class B driver's license
It is advantageous if you also have:
- Relevant work experience where you have worked administratively, as assessed relevant by the employer
- Current experience of working in a reception as assessed relevant for the position
- Current experience of working within the police, another authority, or public administration as assessed relevant for the position
- Knowledge/skill regarding police data systems such as RES, lost property, RAR, and Durtvå
- Proficiency in additional languages as assessed relevant by the employer beyond Swedish and English, Danish and Norwegian

As the pace of work varies, we believe you are a person who thrives and is driven by this, while it does not affect your structured ability or customer interaction. Furthermore, we believe you have a service-oriented and flexible approach as well as good collaboration skills.

Work location: Sveg
Working hours: Full-time, weekly planned. Working hours are daytime Monday-Friday, some work at other times may occur.
Start date: By agreement
