Project Assistant in Regenerative Nature Tourism

The Department of Economics, Geography, Law, and Tourism operates at Campus Sundsvall and Campus Östersund. The activities include research and education in the fields of business administration, law, economics, statistics, geography, and tourism science.

Job Responsibilities

Together with the project team, the project assistant will work on the project Regenerative Nature Tourism – REGGAE see here (https://www.miun.se/Forskning/forskningsprojekt/pagaende-forskningsprojekt/regenerative-nature-tourism--reggae/). The project aims to promote accessible and regenerative tourism and to improve the well-being of entrepreneurs in the project area by building networks and clusters, developing courses, a guidebook, and new thematic tourism experiences. The project includes partners from Sweden and Finland.

As a project assistant, the main responsibilities include:

  • Collecting and analyzing literature and information
  • Collecting and analyzing qualitative data in the field (Jämtland and Västerbotten).
  • Creating and maintaining contacts with nature tourism entrepreneurs and being ready to travel within Sweden if necessary.
  • Developing and writing a guidebook aimed at nature tourism entrepreneurs.
  • Developing courses for tourism entrepreneurs in the Nordic countries.
  • Participating in project meetings and providing administrative support to the project team as needed.

Your Background

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A bachelor's degree in subjects related to tourism science, cultural geography, or equivalent. A master's degree is an advantage.
  • Experience in nature tourism, accessibility, perspectives of various actors (private and public), as well as regenerative tourism and social sustainability.
  • Experience in using qualitative methods and organizing and conducting fieldwork.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Previous experience of being part of an international project, which is an advantage.
  • A valid driver's license, which is a requirement.

Employment and Start Date

The employment is a special fixed-term position comprising 100% of full-time from 2025-05-01 or by agreement/but no later than 2025-12-31.
