The Gothenburg primary school administration is one of the largest school administrations in Sweden. We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool class to grade nine, adapted primary school, culture school, and after-school care. The administration has 138 municipal primary schools where nearly 47,000 students attend school every day. The entire administration has about 9,700 employees who collectively work to develop and take care of the operation - together we pave the way for the school of the future.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Ellen Key School is a K-6 school with about 310 students. Our goal is for Ellen Key School to be a school with clear structures for democracy and norm criticism, and that we work together to ensure that all students reach their goals. We want our students to feel welcome, expected, and important every day they come to school and seen, heard, and understood when they leave Ellen Key School. As a teacher with us, you are an important part of that work.

Backaskolan is a two-parallel K-6 school with about 350 students and 45 employees, centrally located in Hisingen with close and frequent bus connections. The school is situated in a lush and beautiful area with plenty of large outdoor environments. The school, established in 1897, has been completely renovated while retaining its charm.

We are now seeking an engaged teacher for teaching wood and metal crafts for Backaskolan and Ellen Key School. The position is a 100% permanent position, divided into 50% at each school.

You will work at Backaskolan and Ellen Key School at different times, with a clear distribution between the schools. The days at each school will not coincide, allowing you to focus on each school environment and adapt teaching to each school's needs and conditions. You will belong to a work team at Ellen Key School, where you will also participate in staff meetings. Conference time is shared between the different schools in consultation with the assistant principals and staff.

The position does not include mentorship. Together with your colleagues, you will drive the pedagogical development for students throughout the school day. You will plan, implement, follow up, and evaluate the operation according to applicable governing documents and the goals of the operation. You are innovative and forward-thinking, keeping well updated in your field. In the role of mentor, you collaborate with guardians, student health, work teams, and other school staff, working together to achieve good quality in the operation. With a creative approach, you drive the pedagogical development work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a certified teacher K-6 with qualifications to teach wood and metal crafts.

It is advantageous if you have worked in schools with students from multicultural backgrounds and teaching characterized by a language-developing approach. We also appreciate good IT skills as the school works extensively with digital tools.

We actively work to promote student participation, and you are expected to have good knowledge of democracy and student-centered working methods. To succeed in the assignment, you need a good understanding of your role and actively work to ensure that our students are given the opportunity to develop their communicative skills and, in the long run, their democratic competence.
