Job Responsibilities

As a social worker with us, you will be a natural part of all our operations and a valued and sought-after resource.

Your main tasks involve psychosocial treatment and assessment work with patients and their relatives. The treatment focuses on the connection between medical, psychological, and social factors. The aim is to strengthen the patient's situation through conversations and various support measures. In your role, you will also provide social information and facilitate contact with other community organizations.

The work as a social worker is independent, requiring the ability to plan, structure, and prioritize. The role demands strong collaboration skills with patients, relatives, and colleagues from other professions, both internally and externally.

You will primarily work within the Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic and its inpatient services.

About the Workplace

The mission of the Rehabilitation Unit Medicine includes the contributions of paramedical professions at the Geriatric Clinic, Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic, and Medicine Clinic in Västerås. The unit employs occupational therapists, social workers, speech therapists, physiotherapists, and psychologists.

Within the unit, we are seven social workers who work closely together but focus on different areas. We meet regularly for professional exchange, updates, and case distributions.

Within the Västmanlands Hospital Västerås administration, all social workers also meet regularly, providing you with a large network of social work colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and preferably some years of work experience in therapeutic work. It is an advantage if you are a licensed health and medical care social worker. If you have basic psychotherapy training or other relevant further education, we value that.

Since you will be working independently to a large extent, we expect you to have the ability to plan, structure, and prioritize your work. In the role of a social worker, it is important that you are confident, stable, and can distinguish between personal and professional matters. You can empathize with others' perspectives and adapt your approach to the situation while maintaining a realistic perspective. The work requires good collaboration skills, being communicative and clear in your interactions with both patients and colleagues from other professions. You want to contribute to a good collaborative and work climate and have a positive attitude towards your work.

A valid driver's license (B) is desirable.

Employment Conditions

Permanent employment. Full-time, daytime. Start date by agreement.
