We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool class to grade nine, adapted primary school, cultural school, and after-school care. The administration has 138 municipal primary schools where nearly 47,000 students attend school every day. JOB DESCRIPTION

Ekmanska school is a newly established adapted primary school 1-9 that will welcome students in the autumn of 2025, and we are now looking for someone who wants to work as a teaching assistant.

The school is adapted for students with severe or profound intellectual disabilities, who need alternative augmentative communication and also have significant mobility impairments. At the start of the autumn 2025, there will be a maximum of 6 students studying subject areas, but in the long term, the plan is for the school to expand.

As a teaching assistant in an adapted primary school, you work to support the students throughout the school day. You work in a team with teachers and other colleagues to design and adapt the teaching to meet the students' specific needs based on the teacher's planning. Your task is to flexibly, together with the team, find ways for the students to reach their full potential, knowledge development, and independence. Since the school is newly established, we want you to be an active part of the development of the operations through your expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has completed secondary education with further training in the field, as well as at least 6 months of experience in adapted primary school. Experience and knowledge of working with multiple disabilities is an advantage for the position. Experience working with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) is also an advantage.
