As of July 1, 2023, the special upper secondary school changed its name to the Adapted Upper Secondary School. The Adapted Upper Secondary School in Sollefteå is located in the same building as Sollefteå Gymnasium, with which we are well integrated. We are a small unit with 11 students, three teachers, and 4 support staff working closely together. When we need help, student health is available for support.

Thanks to being part of a school with many vocational programs, we can try working in both kitchens and workshops. Our veteran in the adapted upper secondary school is retiring, so we wonder, are you our new teacher and colleague? Welcome to us!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will, together with the work team, plan and implement activities for students at the Adapted Upper Secondary School. You will teach the common subjects for the Adapted Upper Secondary School. We follow the students throughout the school day, meeting them in the morning when they arrive and ensuring they get home with the right transport after the school day ends.

Together with the work team, you will develop the operations and have a good ability to collaborate with colleagues, school management, and staff in other programs as several of our students study either integrated or courses together with students in national programs. Based on the new curriculum that will apply from the autumn term of 2025, you will have the opportunity to be involved from the start and put your stamp on the working methods and organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a qualified teacher or special educator and have experience working in an adapted upper secondary school or other educational activities. Experience working with young people with disabilities is an advantage.

The Adapted Upper Secondary School shows great flexibility so that students can develop as far as possible according to the educational goals based on their conditions. As a teacher, you can adapt your working methods according to the students' needs and conditions. Several students use signs as support, and we would like you to master sign language or signs as support.

You have experience leading smaller groups and appreciate independent work with a good ability to handle a changing everyday life. Personal suitability is of great importance.
