About the Defense Staff's Security Department

The Security Department at the Defense Staff is a new department in growth.

The Defense Staff supports the Supreme Commander in processing and preparing matters at a military strategic level, as well as ensuring that decisions made by the authority's management are implemented, followed up, and reported back. The Defense Staff is also responsible for translating the government's guidance of the Armed Forces into strategic plans and for directing branch and combat force commanders. Furthermore, the Defense Staff has an overarching responsibility to coordinate personnel, infrastructure, and material supply.

The Security Department is placed under the Chief of Staff and is responsible for security services within the Chief of the Defense Staff's operational responsibility. The department consists of the Security Section, the Sua Section, and the Conscription Security Section.

This position is located at the Conscription Security Section.

Main Responsibilities

Your tasks span the entire military security service, from method development, conducting security protection analyses and position analyses, as well as providing support in security matters to the Defense Staff's units and in conscription security matters to all units of the Armed Forces. You will be involved in designing and implementing working methods and routines for conscription security at both central and local levels. You will also participate in the department's security protection planning and be able to provide support in your role. The work also involves coordination within the Defense Staff and collaboration with other parts of the Headquarters and with other authorities.

The primary tasks are to ensure that security assessments of conscripts are conducted and followed up at the central level according to the Security Protection Act.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in security services and security protection, or other equivalent experience deemed comparable by the employer
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
  • Good computer skills

Personal Qualities

You are a curious and stress-resistant person who enjoys varied tasks, both in content and timeframes. You have good collaboration skills but also work independently and take your own initiatives. High integrity and a strong security awareness are important qualities for you.

DESIRABLE

  • Previous experience working with security services within an authority
  • Knowledge and understanding of conscription and security protection legislation
  • Previous experience in staff work within the Armed Forces
  • Relevant security training, such as interview and interrogation training
  • Trained and/or worked with personnel security and security assessments
  • Experience with the Armed Forces' IT systems
  • Trained in archive services

Employment type: Permanent position with a 6-month probationary period.
