About the Position

As a study and career counselor, you provide the students you meet with professional and objective information and guidance.

Based on the student’s interests, abilities, and dreams, you provide insight into what different professions and education entail and how to get there.

Your tasks will include study and career counseling for students and collaboration with guardians and school staff. You will have individual conversations with students primarily in grades 8 and 9, conduct information sessions, organize theme days related to school and work life, participate in the school’s student health team, and be responsible for work experience placements at Veingeskolan. You will collaborate with other study and career counselors in the municipality.

20% of the position involves a central role in coordinating work experience placements for Laholm Municipality's three secondary schools. As a work experience coordinator, you are responsible for maintaining existing contacts and finding new work experience placements, as well as supporting the other schools before, during, and after the work experience periods. In addition to networking, you will work with the work experience system Samverka.nu, be responsible for routines, and update materials. As a work experience coordinator, attention to detail, independence, and the ability to take significant personal responsibility are required.

Are You the One We Are Looking For?

We are looking for someone with a degree in study and career counseling. A driver's license and access to a car are also required. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, where independence, collaboration skills, flexibility, and experience in similar work are prioritized.

To succeed in this role, you need to enjoy working in a team, have a positive attitude, be communicative, responsible, and have an approach where the best interests of the students are always in focus.
