Study and Career Advisor

Do you want to make a difference for students by supporting them in their educational journey and transition into the workforce? We are looking for an engaged Study and Career Advisor to be placed in the Educational Support department who wants to contribute to students' futures through professional guidance and inspiring activities.

The Educational Support department is a central unit within the University’s operational support with about 50 employees responsible for all study administration and student support, both centrally and towards the academy. The department is organized into four groups: the International Office, Study Support, Student-Centered Support, and Study Administration.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of Study and Career Advisor, you will work to promote studies both independently and in collaboration with colleagues within Educational Support, staff within the academies, and with external contacts. You will provide support and guidance to students, both individually and in groups, to help them navigate before, during, and after their studies as they transition into the workforce.

The role will involve developing methods and strategies to meet students integrated into their educational programs. A large part of the work will be among students and in their environments. Overall, there are many opportunities to develop the operations and to grow as a person.

The main job responsibilities are:

  • Study and career guidance for current and prospective students.
  • Conducting information sessions for both small and large groups.
  • Developing and implementing activities that support students' development and future careers. Participating in admissions matters where guidance competence is required.
  • Participating in student recruitment activities.
  • Working on the development of group guidance and creating innovative ways to strengthen students' career competencies.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in study and career guidance or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Experience in guidance.
  • Good knowledge of the educational system and labor market in Sweden.
  • Very good skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

It is meritorious if you have any of the following experiences:

  • Guidance within higher education.
  • Work with young adults, physically or digitally.
  • Experience in developing and leading group guidance.

Conditions

The position is temporary for approximately 10 months. Start date according to agreement.
