Do you want to work in an authority with an important social mission that contributes to creating a safe and secure society and collects customs duties, taxes, and other fees for the state? The Revenue Department has a broad mandate to work for correct revenue collection, i.e., customs duties, taxes, and fees, through the three operational areas of permits, post-control, and revenue monitoring.

The operational work of the Revenue Department is conducted within four geographical units with flexible groups that work with the entire Customs Agency's mission but are specialized based on the needs of the operations. The department consists of about 350 employees. The department collaborates with the Customs Agency's other operational departments: the Control Department, the Intelligence Department, and the Customs Criminal Department.

We are now looking for a colleague for the management support of the Revenue Department in Stockholm. The position is a temporary appointment for about 8 months depending on the start date.

About the position

In the department's management support, you will work with various issues, where the tasks may vary over time. The work involves significant personal responsibility and the ability to work independently, but you will also collaborate with other colleagues within the management support and with large parts of the Customs Agency.

The focus of this position will be to coordinate various processes and conduct investigations related to ensuring correct revenue collection to reduce the risk of administrative errors. Additionally, you will be involved in planning and coordinating the European Commission's and the National Audit Office's reviews regarding customs handling.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in relevant fields for the position, e.g., economics, law, political science, or other education/experience that can be deemed equivalent
  • The Customs Agency's basic training focused on revenue issues (effective trade) or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
  • Experience in compiling, analyzing, and presenting information
  • Experience in investigative work
  • The ability to independently interpret legislation
  • Good ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish and English

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience working as a project or task leader or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of the Customs Agency's work and the Revenue Department's areas of work

Personal qualities

The work often involves new questions, which means you need to be flexible, problem-solving, and able to see the connections between different issues. Since the work is characterized by many contact points, it is important that you have very good collaboration skills. You need to be able to take your own initiatives and independently drive the work forward to a good result. You should also be analytical and quality-conscious. Furthermore, you should be a good communicator with pedagogical skills both in speech and writing. We place great emphasis on personal suitability!

Employment form: The position is a temporary appointment. Individual salary setting applies.

Start date: As soon as possible according to agreement, but preferably no later than June 1.

Business trips are included, mainly within the country but also international travel may be relevant.

Security clearance with a register check according to the Security Protection Act will be conducted before employment, as the position is placed in a security class. The Customs Agency is a total defense authority, and upon employment, you will be placed in the Customs Agency for defense purposes.
