Job Responsibilities

Avenbokens treatment center and Avenbokens ReBo are two institutions aimed at adult substance abusers. We are now looking for kitchen assistants to join our team, preparing and serving lunch and dinner for the institutions alongside three colleagues. The job involves not only kitchen tasks but also collaboration with the staff at the institutions and with guests enrolled in the treatment.

As a kitchen assistant, you will be responsible for preparing and serving lunch and dinner, approximately 60-70 portions per meal. In addition to cooking, the job includes other kitchen tasks such as dishwashing, cleaning, deliveries, and administration related to orders.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience in large-scale cooking and working in a large kitchen, restaurant kitchen, or similar. Since orders are placed digitally, some computer skills are required, and you should also have good Swedish in both spoken and written form.

It is advantageous if you have education in food, hotel and restaurant management, or equivalent at the high school and/or post-secondary level. We prefer candidates with good knowledge of hygiene, food safety, and nutrition, as well as an interest in sharing your knowledge with others. Experience in social work, working in institutions, and familiarity with interacting with people in vulnerable situations is also a plus for this position.

As a person, you are secure and stable. You are empathetic but can set boundaries when necessary and possess a high degree of integrity. The job requires you to be clear in your actions and communication, and to have a good and professional demeanor while sharing Malmö's values of equality for all. The work requires good teamwork skills as you will be working closely with our users and other staff at the facility.

The job also requires you to plan your work, have your own drive, and organize and prioritize your activities independently while delivering on time. Since we largely operate based on the needs of the organization and our users, it is important that you have a high degree of flexibility. This means you can easily adapt to changing circumstances and adjust your approach according to both the situation and the person.
