The Workplace

The principal area of Anderslöv/Alstad consists of Alstad School F-6 and Alstad Preschool as well as Väståkraskolan F-9 and Trollskogen Preschool. Väståkraskolan is located on the famous Landsvägen and is centrally located in the village of Anderslöv, about 25 minutes from Malmö. The school has about 500 students in grades F-9. The area is led by a principal together with four assistant principals and an administrative manager.

We are now looking for a Cook/Food Assistant for Väståkraskolan. Here you will have a unique opportunity to work in an award-winning school kitchen. We are now looking for a passionate and committed substitute cook for the principal area.

We prepare breakfast, lunches, and snacks daily for our diners. Our goal is for our diners to be satisfied, full, and enjoy our food, but also to ensure that school meals are a resource in children's and students' learning about, for example, flavors, ingredients, climate, and health, and we work together with educators and school management. Job Responsibilities

Your tasks include preparation, cooking, baking, and serving, as well as all other tasks that occur in a large kitchen or in a smaller preschool kitchen. You will work with special diets, documentation of self-control, reporting, and working in various digital systems. We would like you to have experience with dietary software and find it exciting to showcase your work on social media. You will be led by the kitchen manager and work together with school management, colleagues, educators, children, and students. Leading meal councils, working climate-smart, participating in events, cooking outdoors, and being curious about development work in both large and small matters are all seen as natural. Professional development and learning are important parts of the work. We expect you to actively work towards our established guidelines for food and meals in preschools and schools in our municipality and to contribute to a good working environment and communication with our diners. In our principal area, we help each other, which means you may work at another unit when needed.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained cook (e.g., a degree from a food program, YH education, or similar) or has experience as a food assistant. Experience from large kitchens is an advantage, especially within preschool or school. In addition to cooking good and nutritious food, you should also have good knowledge of special diets, be able to perform administrative tasks, and have good computer skills.

As a person, you are service-oriented, and you are used to collaborating with both colleagues and students, guardians, and other staff at the school. You have the ability to show great interest in children and students during meal situations, and you take into account the children's wishes and thoughts, e.g., in the meal council. You can easily adapt to changing conditions, and you need to have a driver's license and access to your own car since we work in large areas and it is required to be able to change workplaces for shorter or longer periods.
