At the Verification & Validation department, we are now looking for a Specialist Feature Leader Reliability, to join us in our journey to secure customer success.

The Verification & Validation department is a part of the Global Product Development at Volvo Buses. We are responsible to perform and develop physical tests and to visualize the quality status of our products. This by contributing with facts and knowledge for continued development of our buses.

THIS IS HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT

As Specialist Feature Leader Reliability, you will be our reliability expert for product development initiatives. Your primary mission is to define, verify and validate the targeted reliability level of components, systems, and the complete vehicle in close collaboration with the engineering departments. This includes activities such as requirement setting and suggestion of verification and validation activities, identification of critical components and failure modes, reliability estimation and L10 calculations, and responsibilities for developing Volvo Bus Reliability roadmap.

You will also support us in our work to become even better, this by proactively finding new ways to understanding our customers usage and their expectations on our vehicles and work closely with our test engineers to improve our test methods and test codes.

WHO ARE YOU?

We are looking for you with a passion for technology, customer success and a drive for result. You are an engineer with a pragmatic approach who can demonstrate technical leadership and make decisions based upon facts and engineering judgement. With your proven skills in cross-functional collaboration, you also know how to communicate effectively and influence a positive outcome. You are curious to take on new challenges and are always on the lookout for new opportunities and better ways of doing things.

To be successful in this position we believe you have:

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Reliability or Quality Engineering or similar experience.
  • Experience of doing reliability analysis and conducting reliability activities.
  • Experience with reliability requirement setting and follow-up for vehicle, systems and components.
  • Experience in using reliability tools and statistical programs for reliability analysis and estimation.
