The role of process engineer with us

How about working with a digital twin, pyrolysis, or technical water? Perhaps you are interested in pharmaceutical treatment? Here, your knowledge will be utilized alongside your fellow process engineers. You will also work on development projects and process development for future needs, as well as monitor the external environment and participate in research and development within the industry.

Your tasks will include process engineering questions, such as investigations, analysis, and optimization of existing processes at our four treatment plants. Furthermore, you will be responsible, together with other process engineers, for preparing environmental reports and documentation of operational instructions.

Your role will also include participating in or taking on the role of project manager for planning investment and operational projects. The largest investment in water and wastewater in Kungsbacka is that we are completely renovating our large treatment plant Hammargård, a significant and forward-looking project with a strong focus on sustainability and quality. Hammargård wastewater treatment plant has some of the country's most challenging conditions in its new environmental permit, which places high demands on the technology that will be used at the treatment plant in the future. The renovation is set to begin in the fall of 2025.

Your profile

We want you to have excellent collaboration skills, be responsible, have a strong initiative, and a desire to develop yourself, your colleagues, and the organization. You know how to organize and prioritize your work effectively. You express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written, as this is required in daily work. Personal suitability will be given great importance.

We are looking for someone who has:

• a relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience in the field that the employer assesses as equivalent
• relevant experience in wastewater issues and has been active in the field
• good knowledge through experience of the processes involved in a municipal treatment plant with mechanical, biological, and chemical wastewater treatment.
• good computer skills and experience working in common data environments for the job, such as the Office suite, SCADA systems, etc.
• a valid driver's license (B)

Four larger treatment plants receive and treat wastewater, where the wastewater treatment unit works with the operation and maintenance of treatment plants and 200 pumping stations. We are proud of our treatment plants in Kungsbacka, as we use very few chemicals and instead let bacteria remove phosphorus in our Bio-P plants. The resulting phosphorus-rich sludge is Revaq certified and returned to agriculture. The unit employs a total of 20 people in roles such as operations technicians, process technicians, process engineers, environmental engineers, and an administrator. We have fun together and collaborate across all boundaries to achieve the best treatment.

We offer a permanent full-time position with a start date to be agreed upon.

The position of process engineer reports to the unit manager at the treatment plant. On-call duty is included in the position every 6 weeks.
