About usOttobock Care is one of Sweden's largest orthopedic technical operations with clinics in 20 locations across Sweden, and together with Ottobock, we are one of the world's leading suppliers in orthopedic technology. We receive patients via referrals as well as private individuals in need of prosthetics, orthotics, seating aids, and orthopedic shoes or insoles. Based on our unique collaborations with medical personnel, patients, relatives, user organizations, and suppliers, our ambition is to offer the best possible comprehensive solution for our patients and customers. Ottobock Care in Halmstad is centrally located in the city, and you can reach Halmstad Hospital in just a few minutes by car or bike. We have been in newly renovated premises for 1.5 years, and currently, 16 people work here, of which 12 are patient handlers in various roles. We currently work with all types of orthopedic technical aids and have a close collaboration with each other. A position with us means great variation, and there is an opportunity to learn to work with most orthopedic technical aids available on the market. The work is conducted in close collaboration with healthcare through, among other things, team cooperation such as diabetes clinics, walking schools, and clinics at health centers. One of us will now be on leave for a year, and we are looking for a substitute. The position offers a possibility for permanent employment.
About the positionAs a Licensed Orthopedic Engineer, your main task will be patient reception with the fitting of all types of orthopedic technical aids. You will be involved in developing our operations, which can range from our product range to improving our processes. In your role, you will collaborate with other healthcare personnel within the region, and you will also participate in our on-call operations towards the hospital.

We offerThe employment is a full-time temporary position until June 2026, based in Halmstad. Working hours are according to schedule, daytime. The position is available immediately or by agreement. We have a collective agreement, which means you are covered by collective agreement insurance. Travel in the job may occur. You will be offered a benefits package that includes wellness grants, employee discounts on existing products within the company, and vacation rights according to our local vacation scale.
About youWe are looking for someone who is a trained Licensed Orthopedic Engineer. A license and degree from the Orthopedic Engineering program in Jönköping or equivalent is a requirement for your application to be processed. Exceptions apply to those who are newly graduated and have not yet received a license from the National Board of Health and Welfare. Experience working as an orthopedic engineer is an advantage. You have good computer skills and are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
In collaboration with others, you contribute knowledge and experience while being attentive and respectful and considering the group's best interests. You take independent responsibility for your tasks, drive your own processes, and ensure they are completed. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work while meeting deadlines. When a problem arises, you focus your energy on finding solutions and maintain your focus on the goal.
