About the role
On behalf of AFRY, we are now making an investment to give you as a recent graduate Automation Engineer the opportunity to join our Talent Program! This is a great opportunity for you who want to gain the knowledge required to work as an engineer - ultimately to become a qualified Automation Engineer!
In your role as an Automation Engineer, the work is primarily focused on the energy sector such as nuclear operations and hydropower. You will often be at the client's site, but in-house projects also occur where you work cross-functionally with other departments at AFRY on assignments for example in the paper and pulp industry.
Your tasks for this role include being responsible for DCS systems, from start to finish. This involves configuration, programming, and commissioning of DCS systems from scratch (the systems used are ABB 800xA and Siemens PCS7).
In the long run, the goal is to have overall responsibility for the entire system, from the initial configuration to final delivery to the customer.
Travel is part of the job, mainly in the vicinity of Varberg. In some cases, longer trips within Sweden may occur for the commissioning of automation systems. This is based on your interest and involves about two trips per year, 3-4 weeks at a time.
The Talent Program
The future talent program with AFRY aims to give you as a recent graduate a good start to your career at AFRY. The program will last for one year, during which you will have the opportunity to combine your exciting consulting assignments with training. All to help you grow as a person and develop your technical skills. You will go through the program with people from other locations, thereby building an internal network with people in the same phase.
You will have the opportunity to develop both your hard skills (e.g., technical knowledge) and soft skills (e.g., self-leadership). The program will also include joint activities and digital coffee breaks with other participants, as well as opportunities to exchange experiences with more senior colleagues within the company.
Your profile
As a person, you have a strong interest in technical systems and programming within automation. You are analytical and enjoy solving technical problems through both theory and practice. You are curious, quick to learn, and have a drive to develop in your field. You need to have humility and a desire to integrate into the group to become part of the team. Even if you are junior in the profession, you need to be responsible and feel confident in doing your work correctly and according to the wishes of the client and manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in automation, electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer engineering, or similar.
- Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Driver's license B.
- Swedish citizenship.

Scope: Full-time, temporary.
Working hours: Office hours 8-17, flexible.
Location: Varberg and Gothenburg.
