The Department of Children and Youth is responsible for Halmstad's municipal preschools, primary schools, adapted primary school, after-school care, and cultural school. Every day, about 16,000 children attend one of our facilities.

Our new school, which is expected to be completed in the autumn of 2027 and located in Snöstorp, will have students in grades 4-9. Klaraskolan will then change its name to Lyckedalskolan, and our work is currently characterized by a positive development and change process where safety, clarity, and collaboration are important keywords. With us, the work presents great challenges and at the same time great opportunities. We are a good team of staff who care about good relationships and strive for a safe and trusting work and learning climate where we believe in each other and feel involved. At Klaraskolan, we want everyone to feel good, want to be in school, and have a desire to learn.

We work hard to create a good study environment and a calm atmosphere in lessons, which we see as a fundamental prerequisite for promoting students' learning, development, and health. One of our goals is to raise students' academic results, and this autumn our development journey continues where we together shape competency training and learning based on the needs of the operation. Furthermore, collaboration with guardians and other authorities is key to success. We care about a holistic view of the student and collaborate with SSPF (School Social Services Police and Leisure). At the school, we have a safety team that creates meaningful breaks for our students, and the safety guards work closely with the mentors. We also collaborate in a crime prevention council where we meet with field workers and police every week.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a teacher with subject competence in Swedish and English. The position includes mentorship, and you are expected to have close collaboration with other teachers.

As a teacher at Klaraskolan, it is important that you are a secure and clear leader, you have good pedagogical skills, and you are skilled at adapting teaching to students' needs. In your teaching, you start from a relational perspective, use collaborative structures for student-active teaching, and have a formative approach. You have high expectations of the students and can motivate them to learn and develop by clarifying goals and knowledge requirements. In your pedagogical assignment, it is crucial that you meet all students with a positive attitude, promote students' participation and influence, and have the ability to be flexible and creative. You also see the value of building relationships with students outside the classroom.

You find it easy to collaborate and see the work team as an asset. Together with the work team, you plan, implement, evaluate, and develop teaching based on the school's governing documents and local development plan. In the role of a teacher, good ability to analyze students' needs is required, and you use a methodology well adapted to the student and the group. You are comfortable documenting students' knowledge development and have good knowledge of our digital platforms (Unikum, Teams, etc.). You have a humble approach where you curiously enjoy challenging others and also sharing your experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed teacher with subject competence in Swedish and English for grades 7-9. We would like you to have previous experience working in secondary school.

The extract is free of charge and takes about 2-3 weeks for the police to process. Therefore, order it in good time!
