Skåne Stadsmission currently has over 125 permanent employees and about 275 private volunteers and 126 corporate volunteers, with a turnover of approximately 120 million SEK. We are one of ten members of the National Association of Sweden's City Missions, sharing core values and brand platform.

The activities of the City Mission are financed through IOP (Idea-driven Public Partnership), agreements, grants, project funds, sales of goods and services, and funds raised from companies and individuals.

Café David is our open meeting place aimed at adults. At Café David, we offer a calm and safe place for people experiencing homelessness and social vulnerability, as well as those with mental health issues and/or substance abuse.

We provide both professional and compassionate support, emergency assistance in the form of clean clothes and shower facilities, as well as social community. The café serves free breakfast, subsidized lunch, and snacks. We also have social counseling with a nurse, doctor, physiotherapist, and dentist on-site who can offer consultations, advice, healthcare, and security. In the building, we also have our creative workshop.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a chef with responsibility for our large kitchen. The kitchen is located next to Café David. Approximately 300 individuals visit Café David each day. The kitchen serves free breakfast every day, year-round, and sells well-prepared, nutritious lunch at a subsidized price. Meals are also prepared for other activities within the organization, and we deliver food to external parties through procurement. You will be responsible for leading the work in the kitchen, guiding and supervising the team, planning and preparing menus, ordering and managing ingredients, and ensuring hygiene and safety.

The kitchen prepares breakfast and cooks all meals from scratch. Our intention is to use ingredients that come through our food center, where we collaborate with many producers and wholesalers to reduce food waste.

Who are you?

We are looking for an experienced chef with a heart in the right place. You have great patience and are accustomed to leading work. You can juggle many tasks and are flexible. You are good at building relationships, both within the organization and with our partners and sponsors.

In the selection process, focus will be on knowledge and personal suitability.

Qualifications

• Culinary education or equivalent experience

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in social work

Employment Scope

The position is a permanent employment at 100% and may be preceded by a six-month probationary period. The work is scheduled during the day and includes work every other weekend.
