Your daily life as a project manager in an authority with many exciting construction projects

Fortificationsverket is a government agency tasked with providing the Armed Forces and other authorities with secure properties. We build, own, and manage our unique and extensive property portfolio located throughout Sweden.

As a project manager, you will independently lead investment projects in the construction/engineering field. You will be responsible for the execution of construction projects with associated infrastructure, from early stages to completed building/facility. You will be responsible for time, cost, quality, environment, and functionality. You will have customer and authority contacts and participate in the procurement of consultants and contractors. The role also includes being the client responsible towards consultants and contractors. The position involves travel within Sweden as Fortificationsverket operates throughout the country.

What do you offer us?

We are looking for someone who has:

• At least a high school engineering degree or 4 years of technical education or other equivalent education.
• Several years of experience in independently leading investment projects related to the construction and real estate industry with responsibility for time, cost, quality, environment, and functionality.

You have a leadership competence that we consider satisfactory, good knowledge of Swedish both spoken and written, and good experience with administrative IT systems. A Class B driver's license is required.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Knowledge regarding cost estimation/bid calculation in projects.
• Knowledge of the Public Procurement Act (LOU).
• Knowledge of property and construction law.
• Experience with Fortificationsverket's operations, primarily in construction and management.

The project department consists of 17 units and a total of about 150 employees across Sweden. The department's 14 project units are responsible for the execution of construction and engineering projects where project managers lead and coordinate the work and participate in the construction process from early stages to handover to management and clients. Our customers' increased need for suitable premises and fortifications will result in increased investment volumes for a long time to come.

The project unit we are looking for a project manager for currently consists of 5 project managers, one investment leader, and one unit manager.

The position is a permanent employment, based in Eksjö. Swedish citizenship is a requirement, as employment at Fortificationsverket is security classified.
