The mission of the Education and Labor Market Administration is to increase individuals' opportunities to find work and become self-sufficient through education, internships, and work. We have, among other things, the municipality's largest collective offering of upper secondary education and courses for adults.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The years as a high school student are an exciting adventure, but it should be a safe adventure where the student does not lose but wins the more they invest. The high schools in Halmstad municipality therefore have a common goal of offering students the safest adventure of their lives. We want to provide great choices for students, which is why we have high demands regarding the right staff in the right place. A teacher working with us should be well-educated and have a strong commitment to their subjects.

We are looking for someone who is driven to harness and develop each student's ability and create conditions for learning. Someone who, through a professional approach, builds trust, security, and inspires students to a joyful learning experience.

You now have the chance to work as a vocational teacher in restaurant and large kitchen for the introductory program's vocational introduction at Sturegymnasiet in Halmstad. We are looking for a vocational teacher for 80-100% with a start in the autumn term of 2024.

You will be responsible for kitchen courses in our own training kitchen as well as associated workplace-based learning/internships at workplaces in the municipality. You will belong to the team at the introductory program and have close collaboration with other teachers in the introductory program and in the restaurant and food program.

Mentorship and other usual tasks in the teaching assignment are included.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are primarily looking for someone who has a vocational teacher's degree in restaurant. Work experience from the industry is an advantage. We also appreciate if you have experience and a strong interest in working with youth.

Furthermore, you are an engaged person who enjoys teaching and working with young people. You are creative, attentive, and structured with a good ability to adapt your teaching style to your students' individual needs. You are clear and good at communicating and skilled at inspiring students' interest in school. We expect you to take initiative in your role, start activities, and achieve results.

You act according to our municipality's common values and are a role model for other employees. You encourage participation and creativity, show personal care by providing support and by confronting in a good spirit, both for your closest colleagues and for the organization as a whole. Through your way of acting and communicating, this approach spreads throughout the organization and creates motivated and creative colleagues.

OTHER

If you are offered employment within the upper secondary and adapted upper secondary school at the Education and Labor Market Administration, you are required to present an extract from the Police's criminal record for work in schools/preschools. The extract is free of charge and takes about 2-3 weeks for the police to process. Therefore, please order it in good time!
