Vilhelmina municipality is looking for summer substitutes for preschools and leisure centers in Dikanäs and Saxnäs, subject to necessary decisions.

About our preschools

In Vilhelmina municipality, there are ten municipal preschools, five of which are located in the town. In Saxnäs, there is the preschool Rävlyan, and in Dikanäs, there is Fjällripan. A common feature of all preschools is that we are close to nature, and outdoor activities are an important part of the operations at all preschools. The preschools in Saxnäs and Dikanäs work extensively with Sami culture and offer support in the Sami language.

Small groups and high quality

We generally have relatively small groups in our preschools. There is a decision that there should be three staff members in a group of 16 children. The vision of the education administration runs like a red thread from preschool to adult education, where everyone helps to pull in the same direction. We work according to the motto "hold on, hold out, hold close" and we want to become Lapland's best school municipality, and we have come a long way. The preschool sees the connection between play, learning, and development and is an important actor in that work.

Live well with nature around the corner but close to everything!

We who work in preschool have the opportunity for a good outdoor life. There is access to good ski trails, downhill slopes, snowmobile and hiking trails. Within the municipality, we have the popular mountain resorts Kittelfjäll, Saxnäs, and Klimpfjäll. In addition to skiing and mountain hiking, there are many other activities. In the town, there are riding halls, ice rinks, training facilities, and swimming pools. Our Folkets hus is constantly buzzing with life and offers food, cinema, bowling, and a variety of cultural events. In Vilhelmina, there are recognized food producers where you can buy real gourmet food.

Job responsibilities

As a summer substitute in preschool, you take care of the children and assist them in daily activities with hygiene, meals, and care, and you are responsible for supervision. You lead the educational work and the children's play in the department, and you work to create a positive and development-promoting environment for each child and for the entire group. Working in preschool and leisure as a preschool teacher or childcare worker offers unique – and significant – opportunities to influence and contribute to children's development.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who has worked with children before, is caring, empathetic, responsible, and can perform independent work and make independent decisions. You focus on the child and are cheerful, patient, positive, flexible, and engaged, and see possibilities. It is an advantage if you have preschool teacher education or equivalent experience.

Conditions

The employment is temporary from week 25 to week 31.

Interviews will be conducted continuously. A police record extract is required upon employment.

About Vilhelmina

Vilhelmina can be described as a 5-minute community. It may be a bit far from larger cities, but once you are there, most things are within reach. In five minutes, you can pick up children from preschool, go to work, hit the gym after work, or take your skis/running shoes in the illuminated trails, and eat at one of the town's cafes and restaurants. In the mountains, there are facilities that are open during tourist seasons and year-round, and also close to some of the larger ski slopes in Kittelfjäll and Klimpfjäll.
