Solberga by is now looking for dedicated summer substitutes and hourly workers who want to help create conditions for a playful, fun, and active summer vacation for our children and young people with various disabilities living in our student homes. Solberga by is a non-profit organization that has offered housing and adapted primary school with a Waldorf orientation in Ytterjärna for children and young people with disabilities for 80 years. We offer a unique community where housing, school, and leisure activities are integrated, surrounded by a beautiful environment with the forest and the sea as our closest neighbors.

What does the job entail?

You will work closely with our children and young people in their home environment, providing individual support and assistance with hygiene, meals, activities, etc. The children living with us have various diagnoses such as intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, autism, etc. Our children and young people have extensive care needs, and threats and violence may also occur.
Together with your colleagues, you will plan and carry out fun activities, assist with daily routines, and create meaningful leisure time for our children and young people.
You will use various communication tools, such as signs and pictures, to create understanding and interaction. We base our communication with the children on a low-arousal approach.
Together with your colleagues, you will take care of the children's home environment, which includes cooking, dishwashing, and cleaning. You play an important role in creating a cozy and welcoming environment in the student homes.
As part of the job, you will document in the children's social journal, which requires that you have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

You enjoy working together with others and see the value in sharing your knowledge and experiences.
Previous experience working with children and young people with disabilities is required, and we prefer that you have training in care and nursing or equivalent (Support Educator, Nursing Assistant).
We would also like you to have a B driver's license.
