Workplace Description

Säbyhemmet is a nursing home in Salem municipality. It is located close to Salem's center. Säbyhemmet has five departments, three of which are for people with dementia, one for somatically ill patients, and one short-term care unit. There is a total capacity for 44 residents.

Job Description

As a nursing assistant, you will work with care tasks based on person-centered care, contact person responsibility, and statutory documentation.

The work is based on the implementation plans established in consultation with the resident. You will perform delegated health and medical care tasks. The job also includes conducting individual and group activities with the residents. Service tasks such as cleaning and laundry are also included.

Your work should be performed from a salutogenic perspective.

Qualifications

You should have an approved education in the nursing program and a protected professional title. Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form, as well as computer skills, is required to meet the demands of statutory documentation, basic knowledge of human aging, and the most common diseases in this area.

You should have experience working with BPSD, knowledge of person-centered care methods, basic hygiene routines, mobility, diet, and nutrition, as well as knowledge of the laws governing the operations and the national value framework.

Other language skills may be an advantage.

You should have an interest in human aging and its consequences and participate in the development of the operations. You should contribute to your own professional development.

The work involves physically demanding transfers, which requires good physical ability. It is therefore very important that you take responsibility for your own health. A secure and stable personality is also required, as the work involves meeting people who are seriously ill.

The work includes irregular working hours, including weekends.

Employment Conditions
