Lead Teachers Wanted in Pajala Municipality

Pajala Municipality is the large (in area) small municipality located in the land of the Northern Lights and the Midnight Sun – Tornedalen, in eastern Norrbotten. Take a career step at the schools in Pajala Municipality! We are now looking for 6 lead teachers for the school year 25/26.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The following examples should be seen as guidance for the assignment.

The assignment may include:

• participating with school management in analyzing, leading, implementing, and following up on systematic quality work at the administrative level
• developing teaching at the schools in the municipality
• developing pedagogical planning and assessment in various core subjects
• leading, coordinating, and being responsible for cross-school development processes
• keeping up to date with research and initiating/leaving pedagogical discussions
• coordinating and acting as a facilitator and mentor in a professional collegial learning environment
• observing and mentoring in teaching situations
• introducing newly hired teachers

QUALIFICATIONS

• licensed teacher in primary education
• at least 4 years of experience as a licensed and teaching teacher
• working full-time as a class or subject teacher
• has demonstrated a particularly good ability to improve students' academic results and has a strong interest in developing teaching
• also assessed by the employer as particularly qualified for teaching and tasks related to teaching
• translates governing documents into practice
• has solid subject and subject didactic knowledge
• can successfully adopt the learner's perspective and create good relationships with all students where positive expectations are a natural part
• has a good ability to spread teaching strategies as well as research and scientific theories to colleagues in a collegial professional learning environment
• has shown commitment and genuine interest in school development
• has a good ability to mentor colleagues and lead development processes
• has the ability to inspire and be a good ambassador for the profession

Previous experience in mentoring colleagues and pedagogical development work, as well as subject qualifications in Swedish, Swedish as a second language, mathematics, and English, are meritorious.

The appointment is for 1 year at a time, with the possibility of extension (for a maximum of 3 years). During the assignment, a compensation of 5000 SEK/month will be provided. Upon hiring, salary setting is individual and according to collective agreement (base salary plus a compensation of 5000 SEK/month during the appointment).
