We are looking for an experienced personnel planner who can contribute to ensuring that our employees have the best conditions to perform their work. At SJ, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your efforts make a difference every day.
Your upcoming role:
As a personnel planner within SJ depot, you will be part of the Vehicle division, a part of SJ responsible for the lifecycle of the vehicle fleet and ensuring that whole, clean, and safe trains are put into traffic on time. Your workplace will be at the Hagalund depot, SJ's and the Nordics' largest passenger traffic depot with around 350 employees and 32,000 departures per year. You will be part of a team of personnel planners who together calculate staffing needs based on forecasts for production volume, which is based on various services and the number of trains during the shift. As long-term planning involves many uncertainties, the planning will be fine-tuned as different parts become clear. The role of the personnel planner ensures that SJ's depot has the right resources in place to meet operational needs at all times of the day.
Your tasks:
- Short- and long-term planning for personnel in accordance with production needs, collective agreements, and legislation
- Scheduling and adjusting schedules
- Creating long-term plans for, for example, leave and training.
- Communicating, collaborating, and contributing to a well-functioning cooperation with your colleagues and employees within production.
- Actively contributing to the improvement and development of the personnel planning process with associated tools.

Expectations for the candidate:
We are looking for an experienced personnel planner who thrives in a changing environment where conditions can change rapidly. You are engaged and driven in your tasks and have an excellent ability to prioritize as well as manage and prioritize multiple contact points simultaneously.
In conversations with production personnel, you are communicative and pedagogical. In creating schedules, you maintain clear forecasts and have a drive for improvement. With a good overall understanding of the business, you can balance economic and work environment perspectives. Your analytical ability and curiosity allow you to identify patterns and deviations and explore new solutions, making you a competent problem solver. In the role with the team of personnel planners, you are flexible, proactive, and helpful.
- Experienced personnel planner
- Good overall understanding of the business and ability to balance labor law perspectives and efficient production
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple contact points simultaneously
- Good computer skills, we use Excel and the systems SAP, IVU, Power BI
- Experience in 24/7 and 365-day operations with shift work
- Independent and decisive
- Very good communication skills in both spoken and written form with different types of people
