About the job

The Street and Park Management and Vehicles is a unit within the Community Building Administration.

We manage public land, are road keepers, and are responsible for municipal traffic monitoring/regulation. We ensure that there are suitable facilities and accessible infrastructure on public land that meets the right standards in safety, security, accessibility, and mobility, and contributes to a good urban environment and an attractive municipality. The unit is also responsible for the management and service of the municipality's service vehicles.

We are now offering a temporary position as a Landscape Engineer during the regular Landscape Engineer's leave of absence.

As a substitute Landscape Engineer at Uddevalla municipality, you will play a key role in managing and maintaining our green areas and parks within public land. You will have the opportunity to help shape and improve our public spaces, giving you a chance to make a real difference in our municipality. Your work will primarily involve planned maintenance of parks and green areas, playgrounds, and activity areas, as well as handling questions and matters within the area of responsibility. In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues in your own unit, the operations unit, and the project unit, as well as with stakeholders within the municipal group and with our contractors and suppliers.

Job responsibilities

As a substitute Landscape Engineer, you will play a central role in managing and maintaining beautiful, functional, and accessible outdoor environments for the municipality's residents. Your tasks will include:

• Planning and ordering maintenance measures for parks and green areas, playgrounds, and activity areas.
• Handling questions, reports of issues, and matters
• Nature conservation

Qualifications

We are looking for a driven and self-sufficient person with a strong interest in park and nature conservation and design. You are a flexible and structured person who can work both independently and in a team. Your ability to create good collaborations and communicate verbally with colleagues and residents is important in this role. You should also have a quality awareness and a problem-solving analytical ability to handle the challenges that may arise in the work.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in Landscape Engineering or equivalent education or experience that the employer deems equivalent
• Experience in land development work
• Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing
• Good computer skills, especially good knowledge of the Office suite
• A driver's license for passenger cars

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working in the public sector
• Experience in planning and developing playgrounds and activity areas
