Subscriber Engineer for the VA Planning Unit

Lerum Municipality is known for its scenic locations with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents but expects to grow significantly in the coming years. Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently facing an intensive development period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. The VA unit is responsible for the municipal water and sewage operations in Lerum Municipality. This includes the production and distribution of drinking water as well as the diversion and treatment of wastewater for approximately 33,000 people. The VA unit has over 45 employees and is thus a medium-sized organization, divided into three units: VA Production, VA Distribution, and VA Planning.

To meet the future, the VA Planning Unit, which works with the strategic, customer-oriented, and legal aspects of the VA operations, needs to strengthen its team with a Subscriber Engineer. We currently have 13 people based in Stenkullen, close to public transport and about a 20-minute commute from both Gothenburg and Alingsås. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Subscriber Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work in a developing organization, both within the VA operations and in collaboration with other sectors of community building. The role includes both technical, legal, and economic issues.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Being the contact person for customers in VA connection matters and handling and investigating applications for Municipal VA throughout the connection process
• Responsible for reviewing preliminary decisions and building permits on behalf of the VA operations
• Calculating and invoicing connection fees
• Contributing expertise in VA legal questions and in working with the VA fee structure

Depending on your skills and interests, other responsibilities and tasks may become relevant.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university degree in environmental science and water or equivalent education deemed comparable by the employer. You have previous experience working in municipal VA operations and are familiar with the Water Services Act. Since administration is an important part of the job, you will be writing and managing documentation, so you need to be fluent in both spoken and written Swedish. A B driver's license is required to move freely between different projects and operations in the municipality.

It is advantageous if you have good knowledge of VA law, VA economics, experience working with customer issues, or EDP Future. We value your interest and commitment to environmental and community building issues and technology.

As a person, you are self-driven, unpretentious, attentive, meticulous, quality-conscious, and work in a structured manner. Since you will have many internal as well as external contacts in your cases, you need to have good communication skills and enjoy teamwork.
