The Region Area Västfastigheter Construction and Management is looking for a project manager for our strategic construction projects! Västfastigheter Construction and Management has customer responsibility, represents the property owner in matters concerning the region's property portfolio, and provides the region's operations with premises.

The Strategic Projects unit carries out new construction and renovation of investment projects in the Västra Götaland region's premises. The unit employs about 15 competent colleagues who together are responsible for the unit's delivery, in collaboration with consultants and contractors.

Responsibilities

We at the Strategic unit are responsible for driving projects of a more strategic and complex nature, primarily all projects over 500 million SEK. The projects run from early stages where we conduct feasibility studies, through the project with programming, systems, design, and procurement, into construction and execution phase, to finally handover after the final inspection. A selection of projects driven by the unit includes; Sahlgrenska Life, Botanical Gardens, public transport depots, and new construction of maternity and neonatal units at Östra Hospital.

As a project manager with us, you are responsible for driving the assigned investment project from early stage to final inspection. You are responsible for ensuring that the project meets the goals regarding time, cost, and content in good dialogue with other operations. You are responsible for the project's procurements/ordering of necessary consultants and contractors, maintaining contacts with authorities to ensure necessary permits/requirements, and acting as the client and order representative. You report to the project's steering group and collaborate with working groups consisting of representatives from those who will operate in our buildings as well as from industry specialists.

We operate from our activity-based office at the new Regionens Hus in Gothenburg, but since the projects are driven from our project offices on the project sites, your workplace will vary depending on the needs of the projects. Travel is therefore included in the position, and where possible, we travel by public transport.

Qualifications

You are an educated civil or university engineer in civil engineering or other education and experience that we assess as equivalent. You have several years of experience independently leading larger construction projects in positions such as project manager or project director. You have experience in driving project groups towards the project's common goals regarding time, cost, and content and in accordance with applicable construction legal industry regulations. You also have experience in providing ongoing financial forecasts and conducting project follow-ups. A good experience in procurement of both consultants and contractors, preferably within the framework of LOU, is important to be able to take on the role.

You thrive with a large responsibility and understand the importance of always having a holistic perspective. We are looking for someone who is attentive with the ability to create trustworthy relationships. Your drive makes you self-sufficient and willing to make quick decisions when needed and act on them. You find it easy to organize your work and plan effectively. Good communication skills are of great importance, both verbally and in writing.

A driving license (B) is desirable for the position.
