We are currently looking for a Thermal Interface Materials (TIM) Research Engineer to take on the challenge to explore future TIM solutions for our upcoming ICT concepts.

We expect this expert to be responsible for

1) Providing technical and theoretical guidance for research on new TIM materials and their processes based on product demands and industry trends. This to achieve technical breakthroughs, especially in the areas of: overall conductivity, reliability, and cost.

2) Supporting the verification and test data analysis of key materials & processes, including internal prototypes and samples or those obtained from cooperation with external partners.

3) Supporting us in building an academic and industrial ecosystem/network, and providing scientific support and advice for upcoming cooperation projects in this network, including national, EU frameworks, and other project calls.

4) Supporting the establishment of a state-of-the-art TIM-testing laboratory in our Stockholm office.

The work will be done from our material/thermal teams in Stockholm and our head office in China.

Essential Skills required:

We require a PhD in the area of advanced materials, nanomaterials, or materials chemistry with a focus on changing/improving the basic functionality of the materials and/or their surfaces, or in the area of heat & mass transfer with a TIM-related research focus.

We expect the candidate to have more than 1-2 years of post-doc experience in research and development within the area, preferably from industry.

This experience has given the candidate

1. A good understanding of TIM; its R&D, its manufacturing process, its function including the interaction with surrounding units/surfaces, and the reliability of the total solutions.

2. An excellent understanding of advanced material resources and trends in the material research industry, especially new innovative surface treatments and other ways to change/improve the basic functionality of materials and/or their surfaces.

The candidate can of course communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.

Additional skills required:

1. Excellent knowledge of general advanced materials & processing.

2. A solid knowledge of European universities or technology research organizations.

3. We expect that the candidate can work independently as well as in a team.

4. The candidate should have a high focus on delivering high-quality work.

5. Good communication skills are required.

6. Prior experience from international and multicultural work is preferred.
