About us

The environmental unit at the building and environmental office in Upplands Väsby consists of a friendly and knowledgeable team of 17 people. We primarily work with authority supervision according to the Environmental Code, food legislation, and alcohol legislation. The supervision work is conducted in subject groups where employees independently plan and carry out the work. As an employee at the building and environmental office, you will have the opportunity to work in an organization that is constantly developing. We place great value on reception and competence.

About the position

We are looking for a student employee who during the autumn term of 2025 will be studying to become an environmental and health protection inspector. As a student employee in Upplands Väsby municipality, you will have the opportunity to practice your academic knowledge in parallel with your studies through assignments within our operations. We offer you relevant and qualified work experience, a mentor, valuable contacts, and salary. The working hours correspond to approximately 8-15 hours per week.

As a student employee, you will work both independently and in a group, which means you should find it easy to collaborate with your colleagues and be able to drive your own projects.

Your main tasks will be within both health protection and environmental protection. You will, among other things, inventory unannounced activities, handle your own cases, follow up on previously conducted supervision, accompany inspections, and possibly drive your own supervision project. You will also draft letters and decision-making documents.

As a student employee with us, you will receive a tailored introduction, an appointed mentor, engaged colleagues, and good collaboration.

You will have a fixed-term employment according to the provisions of the agreement for student employees. Working hours will be limited to a maximum of 15 hours on average per week during the term. How the hours are scheduled will be agreed upon at the time of employment.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We believe that you have the ability to plan, work independently, and base decisions on good judgment and sound legal practice. You should be structured and service-oriented. The supervision work requires a good ability to express oneself well in speech and writing. Since it is important to create good relationships, your personal qualities are important to us.
