Experienced Lawyer Wanted at the Swedish Gambling Authority

Background

You will be placed in the Authority's Legal Department, which currently consists of four experienced lawyers (experts) and is led by the Chief Legal Officer. We have an unpretentious and stimulating work environment with high ceilings where we support each other.

The Legal Department provides legal expert support to the Authority's other departments, the Director General, and the Board. The department also represents the Authority in court and is responsible for internal training in several legal areas for the Authority's employees. Court processes can be complex, while the legislation is relatively new and changing, which means that case law is often lacking.

Your Work with Us

The current position involves representing the Authority in court and supporting the operational department's work with, among other things, licensing, permits, interventions, and supervision. You will also work with regulation, consultations, and some more strategic cross-authority legal issues.

Your Background and Competence

We are looking for someone who is a court of appeal or administrative court assessor or has experience that we consider equivalent. You should have several years of experience in qualified legal work and working with court processes. You must have a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. Experience in legislative and regulatory work, as well as experience from the gambling industry, is an advantage.

You are a skilled lawyer and a quality- and results-oriented person who enjoys driving processes forward. You have good judgment and can work independently towards set goals, sometimes under tight deadlines. Flexibility and the ability to quickly change focus are needed in our operations. You also need to collaborate well with people at all levels and from different professional categories. You are constructive and pedagogical. Your language skills and stylistic ability are very good.

Practical Information

The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probationary period. Before employment, a background check will be conducted according to the regulation (1999:1134) on criminal records.
