Job Responsibilities

Our colleague is going on parental leave, and we are therefore looking for a substitute! As a building permit investigator in the supervision group at the Department of Architecture and Building Permits, you will handle supervision cases primarily according to Chapter 11 of the Planning and Building Act. You will also conduct site visits. The supervision contributes to ensuring that democratically decided laws and regulations are followed and applied in accordance with the legislator's intentions, as well as ensuring that we work in the same way throughout the country. You have an important role towards the residents of Malmö and will be the face of the office as you will have daily contact with many of them.

The position is a temporary contract lasting approximately 11 months.

Qualifications

You who are applying for the position have, just like us, a genuine interest in urban development issues. You are independent in your assignment, can take your own initiatives, and are used to seeking information to make well-founded decisions. You need to be able to work in a structured and efficient manner and be able to prioritize and make trade-offs when necessary. You will have your colleagues to help you, who are happy to discuss, advise, and share their knowledge. You will come into contact with different people daily and therefore need to be able to communicate in a clear, simple, and structured way to ensure that your message gets through to the recipient.

To be considered for the position, you must be a trained lawyer, building permit officer, or have another education that the employer deems equivalent. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Experience in supervision work is an advantage. Similarly, experience in municipal operations and/or good knowledge of planning and building legislation is meritorious. A B driver's license is a requirement for the position, and you should feel confident driving a car.
