Lifeguard at Skåne Nordväst Rescue Service

Skåne Nordväst Rescue Service is a municipal federation with four member municipalities: Helsingborg, Ängelholm, Bjuv, Örkelljunga, and Båstad, with a total of approximately 238,000 inhabitants. We are responsible for operational emergency services and preventive protection with the goal of creating safety for those living and visiting our municipalities. In the coming years, several municipalities are expected to join their rescue services within the collaboration Familjen Helsingborg to the federation.

Skåne Nordväst Rescue Service currently has about 355 employees with a budget of approximately 250 million SEK. The central administration is located in Bårslöv, near Helsingborg's southern entrance from the E6.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your mission as a lifeguard means that in an emergency, you should be able to act and assist someone in distress, provide help for minor injuries to bathers, and alert when necessary.

You should be able to move quickly with equipment, which places high demands on good physical ability.

Surveillance is at the three beaches Rydebäck, Råå Vallar, and Fria Bad during the period from June 9 to August 17.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be eligible for the position, you must be at least 18 years old at the start of the season.

You must also have completed the Swedish Lifesaving Society's Coastal Lifeguard Training. If you do not have it, you commit through your employment to complete the training. It is a paid training.

The training dates are June 7-19. You must be available for all training sessions.

You need to be open as a person and have a good sense of service and interaction. It is an advantage if you have experience from similar tasks or if you have medical knowledge.

No experience is required. Prerequisites:

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must be able to swim 1000 m.
• You must be able to swim 200 m backstroke.
• You must be able to dive or jump from 3 meters.

A good benchmark for passing the training is to achieve the silver buoy. Go to a swimming pool and contact the pool manager for guidance.
