We are now looking for a summer employee GIS engineer to support our geodata operations at the Sundbyberg municipality's sector for community building. Sundbyberg is expanding and developing rapidly, and as a GIS engineer, you will gain experience in the community building process while having the chance to apply your knowledge in real life. We currently have a modern GIS platform with great opportunities for the development of our operations. We strive to be at the forefront of GIS and geodata and actively work to become a smart city with a focus on real-time data and modern technologies.

About the Role

As a GIS engineer with us, you will have the opportunity to work on:

Digitizing data into our databases
Inventoring and quality assuring GIS data and its attributes.
Working in the field with the Esri Fieldmaps app
Assisting urban planners in starting the digitization of detailed plans.
Using machine learning for vegetation classification of orthophotos
Conducting network analysis for school placements

We are looking for someone who:

Will graduate within a year or has graduated in the past year.
Has relevant university education in GIS or equivalent.
Is communicative and has excellent skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Is attentive and can work independently as well as in a team.
Has experience with the ArcGIS platform, programming, or IT solutions (meritorious).
