School Social Worker for Educational Unit 1

Here, you will be an important part of the schools' student health services, and together we work to provide students with the best possible conditions to thrive and succeed in school.

Your Responsibilities

You will work at Tibbleskolan and Romfartuna school. As a school social worker, you will work to prevent and address psychosocial challenges that may affect students' learning and well-being. You will collaborate with school staff, students, and guardians, serving as an important link to other community services.

Through your work, you contribute to creating a school where students feel safe, included, and motivated to develop. Your responsibilities include:

• conducting conversations with students and guardians based on psychosocial needs
• working preventively and actively participating in the schools' efforts regarding safety, well-being, and attendance
• supporting school staff in creating a positive and inclusive school environment
• collaborating with other community actors such as social services, family counselors, psychiatry, and other support services
• contributing to the schools' systematic values work and participating in the development of various action plans

Your Qualifications

You are a trained social worker, or have other education that we consider equivalent. You have experience working with children and youth, preferably in schools or other support services. Experience as a social worker is a plus.

You are confident, attentive, and good at building trusting relationships. Your ability to collaborate is strong, and you have a positive attitude towards working in teams. You see opportunities rather than obstacles and are solution-focused.

Educational Unit 1 consists of a family center, three preschools, and two F-3 schools.

As a social worker, you will be part of the schools' student health team and have the opportunity for support and supervision in your professional role. Tibbleskolan is centrally located in Skultuna, and it takes 20 minutes from Västerås to reach us by car. You also avoid city traffic and can enjoy beautiful nature. If you prefer to take the bus, line 21 runs frequently. Romfartuna school is located in the countryside but close to Västerås, and it takes only 15 minutes by car from Västerås.

Before you can be employed, you need to present an approved extract from the police's criminal record.
