Dietitian Wanted at the Social and Care Office

The Social and Care Office in Upplands Väsby Municipality is now looking for a qualified dietitian for a fixed-term position of one year in our in-house operations.

About us

Väsby Support and Care is a municipal provider of, among other things, elderly care and has three special accommodations for the elderly as well as a day activity.

About the position

Your main task is to work comprehensively with quality development of meals and meal environments for the municipality's operations, primarily special accommodations for the elderly. This may involve everything from designing and implementing training and activities to support at the operational level and providing individually tailored advice and support.

The position also involves continuing to develop and implement the lifestyle program Hjärnvägen for the target group of seniors and people with disabilities. One to two days a week, you will work with lectures, individual advice, or group workshops. You may also work strategically with dietary issues, both within Hjärnvägen and at the population level. You will also work with:

• Evaluation, through regular follow-up of key figures.
• Analyzing and evaluating the need for health-related interventions.
• Collaborating with other professional groups within health and medical care, such as rehabilitation.

As a dietitian, you are an expert on food and eating in relation to people's health, well-being, and illness. To support individuals' unique needs and situations, you apply knowledge about food from various perspectives, such as nutrition and treatment, enjoyment and tradition, food safety, and sustainability. This requires a scientific and person-centered approach for a versatile dietitian profession primarily within health and medical care. You place the individual, food, nutrition, and health at the center.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a university degree from a dietitian program (180 credits)
• Is a licensed dietitian
• Has previous work experience as a dietitian

We want you to have good communication and pedagogical skills, as much of the work involves informing and educating others. The ability to work transprofessionally and in teams is also important, as well as a good understanding of the social determinants that affect health.

Necessary personal skills for a dietitian:

• Communication skills: The ability to convey information clearly and engagingly.
• Pedagogical skill: The ability to educate and motivate individuals and groups.
• Analytical ability: The ability to analyze and evaluate health data to identify needs and evaluate interventions.
• Collaboration skills: The ability to work together with other professional groups and organizations.
• Creativity: The ability to develop new and innovative ways to promote health.
