The Child and Youth Administration is responsible for Halmstad's municipal preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, after-school care, and cultural schools. Every day, approximately 16,000 children attend one of our operations.

Slottsjord's adapted primary school has about 90 students in grades 1-9 and is located in the central parts of Halmstad. At the school, we work closely in teams, with great commitment to developing our students towards the goals. We are a school that is constantly growing and spending a lot of time building common structures and content. Development of both the operation and ourselves is of great importance. JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a qualified special educator who wants to be part of our team and help create a learning environment where all students have the best conditions to succeed.

You will support the educators in their work to optimize students' development and learning. You will be part of the school's student health team, where you, together with principals, school counselors, school nurses, school psychologists, career counselors, and the educators in the teams, work for the best interests of the students. You have an important role in collaboration between school and home and external contacts.

To thrive in the role, you have a salutogenic and relational approach and meet students, guardians, and colleagues with competence and warmth. You have a strong commitment and find it easy to build good relationships. You have a good ability to see all students and take into account their individual conditions. You want to make a difference and contribute to students' learning throughout the school day. We also appreciate an interest in school development and systematic quality work.

Your main tasks are to:

• Identify, analyze, and participate in preventive work and in efforts to remove obstacles and difficulties in various learning environments.
• Take overall responsibility for the process regarding extra adaptations, special support, and action programs, both at the organizational, group, and individual levels.
• Conduct pedagogical investigations and analyze difficulties at the organizational, group, and individual levels.
• Apply knowledge of neuropsychiatric difficulties in various learning environments.
• Be a qualified conversation partner and advisor in pedagogical matters for principals, colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
• Follow up and evaluate as well as support the development of pedagogical work with the goal of meeting the needs of all students.

QUALIFICATIONS

Special educator degree and teaching certification with qualifications for grades 1-9. Previous experience as a special educator in primary school and/or adapted primary school, as well as experience and knowledge of mentoring teachers in complex teaching situations, is an advantage.

In your communication, you are attentive and clear. You are confident in yourself and find it easy to collaborate with school leadership, staff, and other stakeholders. You are solution-focused and enjoy working with complex issues, analyzing, and breaking down problems.
