Foster Home Secretary at the Social Services Administration

We belong to the Social Services Administration, one of the six administrations in Lidingö City. We have about 800 employees working to support our residents in all stages of life. We work with elderly care, social psychiatry, disability services, and individual and family care. We always put the individual's needs at the center.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Foster Home Secretary, you will recruit, investigate, and guide foster homes, emergency families, contact families, and contact persons who, on behalf of the municipality, support children and youth aged 0-20 in various life situations. You will closely collaborate with other foster home secretaries and child secretaries in the team who have follow-up responsibilities regarding the children. You will also work with social workers in other groups.

In addition to working with ongoing clients, you will be involved in recruiting new individuals and families interested in helping children and youth. Within the unit, we actively work to develop our methods, where recruiting new clients is an important part, as well as ensuring that Lidingö City offers quality support and guidance to clients.

Currently, a tour is underway where I, as the unit manager, together with child secretaries and foster home secretaries, visit all our own foster homes to ask how they perceive Lidingö City as an employer. We believe it is crucial that our foster homes receive the support and professional development they need. It is together with the foster homes that we create our foster care! This also gives us the opportunity to gather opinions on recruitment issues and discuss current topics in the foster care community. QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker. You have experience in the social services' authority regarding children and youth and have good knowledge of applicable legislation in the area. It is an advantage if you are trained in Nya Kälvesten and have a training in supervision focused on foster homes. You have excellent knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, and find it easy to communicate.

As a Foster Home Secretary, you find social work enjoyable and important. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You are also attentive and have good collaboration skills. As a person, you remain calm in stressful situations and can empathize with others without taking over.
