The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and adding on, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.

The Correctional Service's Service Center (KSC) supports the authority in personnel and economic administrative services, support functions, and the authority's switchboard function. The goal of KSC is to reduce administration for managers and client-facing staff through a mix of centralization and extended support. The position is located within the Personnel Administration Section. The section's work includes payroll, personnel, and schedule administration, travel expense reports, and reimbursements, as well as support in these areas.

As an employee in the section, you will be offered a secure employment with good employment benefits. These include favorable vacation terms, flexible working hours, wellness grants, and the possibility of remote work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

With a growing authority, the need for service and support increases, which is why we are now looking for a service-oriented payroll officer for the Personnel and Payroll Administration Section. The section's work includes payroll, personnel administration, schedule administration, travel expense reports, and reimbursements.

Your tasks include registering employments, drafting employment contracts, and creating certificates as well as travel expense administration. You will also work with ongoing tasks related to our payroll cycle, such as monitoring lists and error and signal lists.

In the role of payroll officer, you will also provide support and assistance to the authority's employees via phone regarding travel expenses, salaries, vacation, changes in working hours, as well as other payroll issues and guidance in the personnel system Heroma. It also includes handling inquiries in the case management system via text. We encourage our employees to participate in developing our processes and working methods. The role of payroll officer may also involve participation in various assignments related to, for example, improvement work within our processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who collaborates well with others and adapts easily to changing circumstances. You communicate clearly and are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. In this role, you take responsibility for your tasks and drive your processes forward.

It is important to us that you share the fundamental values of the Correctional Service regarding a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in the human will and ability to develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally with your approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Post-secondary education as a payroll specialist/payroll consultant or other education combined with experience deemed relevant by the Correctional Service
  • Recent experience in payroll administration.
  • The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
  • Very good computer skills.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Additional education in labor law.
  • Experience with the personnel system Heroma
  • Experience in personnel work within the public sector
  • Experience working with state collective agreements and payroll processes
  • Experience in service work via phone
  • Very good knowledge of the Office suite.

OTHER

We have high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. To work with us, you need to undergo a security clearance in accordance with the Security Protection Act. The position is classified in a security class, and a security clearance including a security interview with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. During the security clearance, you will be investigated as a person, your background, and your relationships from a security perspective.
