Café Host for Gateau Arlanda Airport

We are now looking for someone who, like us, loves the smell of freshly baked bread – and is passionate about creating magical guest experiences! Gateau is a craft bakery with roots dating back to 1937, where the bread is baked according to traditional French recipes. Gateau at Arlanda offers premium coffee and a wide range of pastries, sandwiches, and salads for on-site dining or take away.

About the position:

We are a cheerful and dedicated team that together creates fantastic guest experiences. As a café host, you will work at the espresso machine and with various café tasks such as cash handling, serving, refilling displays, cleaning, and dishwashing. Our opening hours follow the airport's hours, which means you will work varying hours, including early mornings, daytime, evenings, and weekends – the craving for bread never takes a break!

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a passion for service and a genuine interest in creating fantastic guest experiences. We believe you have a strong interest in coffee, pastries, and bread, enjoy working both independently and in a team, and thrive in a dynamic environment. You take initiative and responsibility for your tasks, have good collaboration skills, and communicating with guests, colleagues, and managers is no problem for you. Furthermore, being organized and tidy is a given for you. You speak and write both English and Swedish fluently. You need to be at least 20 years old as we serve alcohol and you may be responsible for serving. (According to the Alcohol Act (2010:1622) Chapter 8, Section 18 on Serving Alcoholic Beverages). Previous experience in the service industry (e.g., restaurant, café, or retail) is a significant plus.

Other:

Our opening hours follow the airport's hours, which means working early mornings, days, evenings, and weekends. You need to be able to get to and from work during these times. It may be an advantage if you have access to a car as it can sometimes be difficult to get to and from the airport using public transport.

In your application, you should state your citizenship and be able to present a passport that verifies your citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.

To work at the airport, a successful security clearance and background check are required, which means you can verify your employment over the past five years. This should be verified in the form of certificates or diplomas, ensure that you can provide this and prepare as well as you can for a potential interview.
