HR Specialist Wanted at the Swedish Geological Institute (SGI)

We are looking for a new colleague, an HR specialist, who wants to work with a wide variety of tasks within the entire HR field. The Swedish Geological Institute (SGI) is an expert authority working for safe, efficient, and sustainable construction and sustainable use of land and natural resources. Our tasks include preventing landslides, collapses, and coastal erosion. SGI also works on developing new methods for cleaning up contaminated areas. SGI belongs to the Ministry of Climate and Enterprise and has approximately 100 employees. The main office is located in Linköping, with offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The HR unit is responsible for driving and developing the strategic and operational HR work within the authority. We provide flexible and qualified service to the organization in areas such as employment conditions, competence supply, salary formation, work environment, and collaboration with our trade unions. Our mission is characterized by a varying workday and a constant need to develop and simplify our working methods, which is why we see collaboration within the unit and the authority as a crucial factor.

You will work with HR support broadly, both operationally and strategically, and are expected to handle many different issues throughout the workday, both high and low.

Your tasks will include, among others:

  • strategic and operational competence supply work focusing on recruitment, competence development, on- and off-boarding,
  • systematic work environment efforts,
  • rehabilitation initiatives,
  • employee support in employment conditions,
  • manager support in labor law and employment conditions,
  • issues related to payroll management and overall HR administration,
  • development of HR unit's routines and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • relevant academic background with a degree at least at the bachelor's level in human resources and labor science, or similar education deemed equivalent by the employer for the position,
  • very good experience in qualified work with competence supply, from recruitment to termination, work environment, and rehabilitation as well as labor law issues,
  • very good administrative skills and handling of HR issues,
  • experience and good ability to assess people.

The position requires good language skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Meritorious for the position are:

  • good experience working with recruitment tools and payroll systems, as well as the Office package,
  • experience working with payroll-related issues towards, for example, an external actor such as the Swedish Agency for Government Employers,
  • experience of HR work within the public sector.

You are solution-focused with very good analytical skills and work structured, efficiently, and from a holistic perspective. Your working style is characterized by a positive view of people and a highly developed ability to collaborate respectfully and with high integrity. Since the work involves many internal contacts and also to some extent external, a high social competence with good communication skills and an outgoing working style is required. We expect you to have an approach that is supportive, pedagogical, and professional. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is a given for this position. You enjoy simplifying and improving processes and routines.

The position belongs to the HR unit, which together with the units for Communication, Finance, and IT constitutes the Department of Operational Support. The position is a permanent employment within the Department of Operational Support. The position may begin with a probationary period. You report to the HR manager, but your supervisor is the head of the Department of Operational Support.
