About Tjärö

Tjärö, an island of 75 hectares, located in the heart of Blekinge Archipelago. Tjärö offers accommodation in charming small houses from the 1800s. There are 125 beds distributed across 48 rooms in 9 different houses. In addition to lodging, there is conference activity, a restaurant, café, and a marina with over 70 boat slips. The island can be reached by boat from Järnavik, Karlshamn, or Ronneby.

About Tjärö's Restaurant

The restaurant at Tjärö is open for breakfast, lunch, à la carte, events, and theme nights every day of the week. The restaurant has a capacity of about 100 guests in the dining room, 40 guests on the veranda, and a large outdoor seating area with a view of the marina. During the low season, conference activities increase the workload in the kitchen, while during the high season and weekends, there is a greater focus on day guests, overnight guests, and boat guests.

The kitchen team consists of between 3-8 people depending on the season. This means that our staff must be prepared to be flexible regarding working hours, workstations, and always be part of the practical work.

Job Responsibilities

• Purchasing and handling of food items.
• Quality control.
• Ongoing inventory.
• Planning of lunch menus.
• Close collaboration with the Head Chef.
• Weekly planning together with the head chef, serving, and bar managers.
• Focus on sustainability.
• Training of staff (e.g., menus, workplace hygiene, ergonomics, etc.)
• Assisting and being creative regarding menus, theme nights, and events.
