Description

The Coast Guard in Karlskrona is looking for 3-4 chefs who can work extra as needed on the combination vessel KBV 003, Amfitrite.

Responsibilities

As a part-time chef steward, your main tasks will include:

• Preparing meals on board for 13-22 people
• Possibly planning purchases
• Responsible for cleaning the galley and associated spaces
• Participating in the station's and vessel's work

Working hours are irregular, which means full or part of a sea patrol as needed, where you work and stay overnight away from home for up to eight days.

Qualifications

You should have completed culinary school and have experience and good professional skills as a chef. You should have good knowledge of nutrition and meal composition, good organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. You should be orderly and have a good ability to maintain cleanliness and be well-versed in food hygiene. You must be proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Furthermore, we see that you are flexible, stress-resistant, and communicative. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

In addition to the above, the position requires that you have competence according to the guidelines for KBV-Maritime (2018-3130):

• Approved medical certificate for seafarers in unrestricted service (TSFS 2011:117) 1§
• Approved training as a chef or equivalent. The training must be approved by the Swedish National Agency for Education, 20§

Conditions

As a temporary employee, you will be part of a pool of people we call in as needed, by the hour. This means that you are not employed at any other time than what we agree you will work.

For employment, Swedish citizenship, a driver's license for passenger cars, a drug test, and a security screening with background check according to the Security Protection Act are required.
