Make a Difference. Every Day.

We are approaching our goal of full staffing in our department. We are now looking for a nurse who wants to join our team and continue our exciting journey together!

The Spinal Cord Injury Unit at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) is one of Sweden's leading providers of spinal cord injury care and rehabilitation. We have been entrusted by the National Board of Health and Welfare to operate as one of four nationally highly specialized units and are now expanding our operations to accommodate more patients from a larger part of the country.

In early April 2023, we opened an acute rehabilitation medicine unit at the top of Blocket with a fantastic view. Our newly renovated facilities create conditions for an inspiring environment where patient care of the highest quality is the focus. The unit in Lund complements the well-established operations currently located at Orup Hospital outside Höör.

Feel free to check out our film and get an insight into our operations:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Our work is characterized by joy, humility, collaboration, and flexible thinking. With us, you will feel comfortable asking questions about everything. Regardless of profession, we help each other and work together on solutions to make a difference for our patients every day!

Your employment begins with a guided introduction, shadowing, and training in Rehabilitation Medicine, where we also collaborate with relevant emergency care within Sus and our units at Orup Hospital.

With us, you will work closely with many different professions in an interdisciplinary team, where everyone focuses on the patient and their needs. The team meets several times a week to discuss how rehabilitation is progressing with the patient and review current goals. We work for a high staff density to meet the patient's rehabilitation needs.

Michelle, a nurse in rehabilitation medicine, describes her work as follows;
- We meet patients of all ages who, due to trauma or illness, have suffered a spinal cord injury. Patients come to us to gain independence based on new life circumstances. We provide advanced medical care, but at a calmer pace, as there must be time for each individual patient and their relatives to adapt to their new circumstances. Providing patients with knowledge to take responsibility and be involved in decisions regarding their own health and well-being is an important part of my role as a nurse.

With us, you have great opportunities to participate in continuing education, training activities, and research. We welcome students from all professions and conduct multidisciplinary research at Lund and Malmö Universities. For many years, we have been working systematically with quality through the accreditation organization Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), which places high demands on routines and continuous improvement work.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed nurse with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Your language skills in Swedish correspond to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale. Previous experience in emergency care or neurological rehabilitation is an advantage.

We work in a team-based manner in close collaboration with our patients and their relatives. Therefore, it is important that you can collaborate and cooperate with your colleagues in your daily work. We apply person-centered care with a holistic view of the patient. A central part of your work is that you can easily contact different actors within the patient's care chain. As a person, you are a team player who easily sees solutions and enjoys patient-centered work. Furthermore, you have good pedagogical skills, are proactive, engaged, and contribute to a positive work environment. You are also accustomed to working independently and taking responsibility. We place great emphasis on personal suitability as we are keen to achieve diversity in our workgroup.

In this recruitment, we use ongoing selection. We warmly welcome your application today!
