IT Support Technician at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants to help increase the local support of the IT department in the core operations and who is passionate about helping and educating others with digital tools. You have a strong interest in understanding the needs and requirements of employees.

Your service role will be an important interface between the IT department and the core operations. You will be part of a unique initiative for the Swedish Prison and Probation Service that involves shaping a new type of local IT support for the core operations. You will be placed in the IT department under the IT service center section and spend a lot of time in the core operations in client-facing work. In your geographical area, you will carry out IT service tasks in our core operations, prison, remand facility, and probation. Our operations are conducted in various locations across the country, which means extensive travel within your regional area, and occasional overnight stays. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service provides pool cars for these services that are used during working hours.

In your service role, you will creatively contribute to increased digital maturity in the operations by, for example, acting as an advisor, guiding and supporting staff regarding the IT department's services, and contributing to the development of local IT security work. You will support the operations with IT service tasks and IT support with problem-solving. You will also participate in service development by continuously gathering improvement suggestions and feedback on IT's services and applications, as well as assisting the IT department with specific assignments, such as implementations and lifecycle management of hardware.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who takes responsibility for their tasks and can independently structure, prioritize, and drive their processes within given time frames. Furthermore, we expect you to be calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. You work well with others, have a good understanding of how others absorb knowledge, and adapt and relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. Lastly, you act in accordance with decisions made and raise criticism only in the correct contexts or directly with the parties involved.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed upper secondary education in the form of a diploma or high school diploma
• Experience in service work
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
• Driving license B

It is an advantage if you have:

• Education focused on IT
• Experience working in the core operations of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Experience as an onsite technician or similar
• Experience in end-user support
• Experience in service with a focus on IT or technology
• Knowledge and understanding of service management and its support
• Knowledge of hardware related to PCs, thin clients, laptops, printers, video equipment
• Understanding of the complexity of working in larger organizations

OTHER

We have high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. To work with us, you need to undergo a security clearance in accordance with the Security Protection Act. The position is classified in a security class, and a security clearance including a security interview with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. During the security clearance, you will be investigated as a person, your background, and your relationships from a security perspective.
