We are looking for a female assistant, aged 23-40, who wants to work with a playful 13-year-old girl who has a brain injury that prevents her from seeing, speaking, understanding dangers, or complex instructions. She needs support and help with everything in her daily life. She has personal assistance around the clock.

About the assignment

As a personal assistant, you will be with the girl on her terms. She enjoys playing, going on outings in her own car, visiting the playground, SWIMMING, reading books, listening to music, sitting in the sandbox, going down slides, swinging, exercising, playing with Lego, doing puzzles, etc. You will be part of a dedicated team of other assistants whom the girl calls 'friends'. The assistants use sign language to help the girl express what SHE wants to do or how she feels. You will receive training in sign language if you do not have prior experience. You need to have a driver's license and a car to get to the workplace, which is the girl's home. There are pets in the home, so you cannot be allergic to animals. The girl lives 10 km outside Hudiksvall and has siblings. Currently, she has assistance in school during the day, so there will be a need for personal assistance during school hours starting in the fall of '25.

Who are you as an applicant

We are looking for someone who has personal suitability for the assignment. For us, this means that you are responsible, empathetic, and attentive. It is important that you are punctual and can keep time but also flexible enough to occasionally step in to cover gaps in staffing. You can work both independently and collaboratively with others. It is also desirable that you have good physical health, are cheerful, and positive. The chemistry and interaction between you as an assistant and the client are crucial for the quality and experience of the work. We see great value in you as an assistant having a calm and methodical approach, being stress-resistant, and having good patience. You should view the position long-term as you will become an important part of the girl's life.

The employment is hourly. Working hours cover the entire day and you as an assistant can be scheduled for either day, evening, or night shifts. You will shadow/introduction to then, after the introductions during the period of June-August, transition to 100%, after the summer it may be relevant for a position corresponding to 50%.
