The Adult Support Unit is tasked with investigating and deciding on various types of interventions primarily under the Social Services Act. Welcome to us!

We are looking for someone who wants to work as a social worker in the adult unit within financial assistance. The role of a social worker is significant and multifaceted. In dialogue with clients, you work to find a solution for the individual. You often meet people in crisis and with complex life situations.

You will work on-site in our municipal office in Vaxholm. Here you have close access to beautiful walking paths, public transport, and good parking opportunities. There is an option for remote work 1-2 days a week once you have settled into the role.

As an employee of Vaxholm City, you may be subject to military placement in the city.

Employment form: Permanent employment. A probationary period may be applied.

Scope: Full-time, 39.5 hours/week.

Start date: As soon as possible according to agreement.

Responsibilities

Your main tasks involve meeting your clients and working motivationally towards self-sufficiency. You will investigate and make decisions regarding financial assistance, gather information, establish change plans, make assessments and decisions, and follow up on planning according to the Social Services Act. Documentation and processing occur in our operational system Lifecare.

You will investigate, assess, decide, and implement decisions based on applicable legislation and guidelines. Since we work in a team-based work model, you may also handle varying tasks within the unit.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work.
• Experience in social services and financial assistance or other governmental functions is an advantage.
• You communicate well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
• You are accustomed to meeting people who may be in vulnerable situations and have a good sense of service.
