Lawyer at the Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS)

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. With us at SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

At our headquarters in Solna Business Park, we are about 350 employees, and together we work to support and develop the authority with approximately 4000 employees.

Job Description

As a lawyer at SiS, you have the opportunity to be part of a transformation journey aimed at creating working methods that ensure equality, efficiency, and legal certainty with a focus on young people and clients. SiS's operations should be equitable and free from discrimination, and we carry out our work with good ethics and high quality. The legal department is characterized by high availability for the operations as we work broadly across the entire authority.

The legal department has about 40 employees and is divided into three sections: the Section for Government Law, the Section for Operational Law, and the Section for Information Management. The Section for Government Law is responsible for legal governance, support, and follow-up regarding legal issues that are cross-authority. The section is also responsible for the development and follow-up of the authority's common decision-making and preparation processes as well as the release of public documents that are to be reviewed at the headquarters.

We offer a varied role with interesting tasks! Together with your colleagues, you will provide legal support in all relevant legal areas for the authority. Examples of common tasks include preparing legal investigations, responding to referrals, and handling cases that are of central importance to the operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A law degree comprising at least 270 credits
  • At least three years of experience in legal work
  • Knowledge in administrative law and social law acquired through work
  • Excellent command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Experience in legal work related to public access and confidentiality as well as social law
  • Completed a judicial clerkship
  • Experience working with regulations and general advice

It is important that you have good collaboration skills as the work requires cooperation, both internally within the department and with other departments. You communicate clearly and can explain legal issues in a simple and understandable way. As a person, you are meticulous and plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively.

We place great importance on personal suitability!

At SiS, we value good employee engagement. This means that you, as an employee, take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee engagement.
