The Position

The position is located at the security department of the Headquarters staff in Stockholm. The department is responsible for internal security at the Swedish Armed Forces' largest organizational unit, the Headquarters, and also for the personal security of the highest leaders of the Armed Forces. The department also coordinates security protection within the Stockholm Garrison. The Headquarters is undergoing reorganization, which also applies to the security department, which is in an expansive period where both tasks and a new work team are being developed. Main Responsibilities

The security department is organized into four sections, and the position is located at the Personnel Security Section. As a security investigator, you are the right hand of the section chief regarding personnel security and functional management of all parts of the security vetting process within the organizational unit. The position also entails the role of investigation leader within the framework of personnel security. The tasks include, among others:

  • Developing methods for personnel security at the Headquarters
  • Being responsible for investigations within the framework of the security vetting process at the Headquarters
  • Supporting the operations with qualified training and methodological support related to all parts of the security vetting process during employment and follow-up security vetting
  • Conducting security vetting and other conversations within the framework of the security vetting process
  • Conducting and being responsible for security training in the area, internally at the Headquarters
  • Developing and writing internal regulations within the area

The tasks may change over time as the operations develop. You will have close cooperation with the security chief at the Headquarters, the Military Intelligence and Security Service, the Defense Staff, and Operations Management.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Several years of current and relevant experience in independent investigative work related to security vetting
  • Current experience of working in security-sensitive operations
  • Very good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish
  • Good knowledge of MS Office

Meritorious

  • Service within the security service of the Armed Forces
  • Current experience of conducting training in security protection
  • Experience in leading personal investigations
  • Training in interview and conversation techniques
  • Current and relevant security protection training within the Armed Forces
  • Experience of working in IS Undsäk

Employment type: Permanent employment, 6-month probationary period applies (for those not employed within the Armed Forces)
Civil/Military employment: The position is open to both officers, specialist officers, and civilians

Information about the recruiting unit

The Headquarters houses the Supreme Commander and the Director General. The Headquarters has about 1,000 employees – both professional officers and civilian experts. As of January 1, 2023, the Headquarters consists of the Defense Staff, Operations Management, Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the Headquarters' staff department and independent supervisory units.

Employment with us means placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. A security vetting with a background check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment also includes an obligation to be placed in wartime. The implications of this vary depending on the type of position.
